	This drama in animated-cartoon form depicts the life of a youth who is endowed with athletic talents, yet who is left alone in the world after his father's sudden death. He faces many hardships while he seeks to find his career, since he must act for himself without parental support. Eventually he is successful, thanks to determination and a willingness to work hard. He is a shining example of the motto, "A sound mind in a sound body."
	Sanshiro’s father, who created his own judo fighting style, is killed in aduel. So Sanshiro sets off on a wandering adventure to exact revenge on his father’s killer. His courage and devotion demonstrate a good example for growing youngsters.
