Music company Lantis and its parent company Bandai Visual announced that the total CD sales of SUPER DRIVER, the latest opening theme song of THE MELANCHOLY OF HARUHI SUZUMIYA’s TV series , released on July 22, 2009, has been over a million copies.

THE MELANCHOLY OF HARUHI SUZUMIYA is a highly popular TV anime series that started in spring 2006.

It is a huge record that a single anime series’ theme song sold over a million copies, but the record seems to keep going from now on. After this summer, new CD titles will be released continuously.

New CD titles THE MEMORY OF HARUHI SUZUMIYA and RECORD OF HARUHI SUZUMIYA will be released on August 5 while STOP!, the latest ending theme song of the TV series, released on August 26. Also, THE MELANCHOLY OF HARUHI SUZUMIYA -RemixCD Full Mix will be sold on August 26.
